You may already know GuitarDir because you've visited it and contributed in the past. Welcome back after all these years of silence.
For those who don't know GuitarDir.com, I created this site back in 2007. Collaborative idea, just to keep important guitar data and infos safe and available to all. Some individuals have contributed immensely (too many to name them all) and helped the site to become a reference in the guitar world. That has always been an important initiative to me, and I did my best to maintain it up and running until some stupid jerks decided it was funny to put it down (2011), deleting code and pics. I still don't see the point in hacking such a site but anyways.
From a data perspective, backups were regularly performed so no harm. Just disrupting, and as always, it happened on the worst time.
Now things have settled a bit and I now have time to invest. GuitarDir.com is now restored and up and running. The design (dated anyway!) is back to basic but what matters is it's alive and waiting for your contributions. And any links to GuitarDir.com infos or pics you or other websites might have are restored as well...
You have a guitar not described within GuitarDir? You have some pics you can share? Please update GuitarDir yourself, I'll review and validate. You have some catalogs or other infos you want to share? Please register on the Forum and let me know. I'm seeking some admins to do some validations and researches, if you're obsessed by guitars please introduce yourself and let's talk!
I'm personnaly interested in Japanese guitars from the 70's and 80's, that's my main expertise. That said, GuitarDir aims to cover everything, so your contribution is very welcomed. If for some reason you know a (some) specific brand(s) very well, please become a GuitarDir SME...
Please do not hesitate to use the Forum, contribute as much as possible and let me know how we can improve GuitarDir.com.
